The Virginia Alzheimer’s Disease Center (VADC) is advancing dementia research by knitting the community together through research collaborations.

Scientists, care partners, and persons with dementia are collaborating to improve our understanding of the aging brain. The VADC is committed to serving all individuals, with increased efforts toward addressing the needs of underserved populations in the state of Virginia and beyond. We focus on the impacts of chronic stress, sleep, and health disparities impacting people with dementia and their care partners.

With the help of world-class experts and cutting-edge technology to collect, store, and extract data, our collected information is readily accessible and available across the ADRD research ecosystem as a part of the national effort to study Alzheimer's disease and related dementias.

Alzheimer's makes us realize that we are not alone - that kindness and compassion are everywhere and all around us.
