Dr. Van Horn leads a research team at UVA focused on neuroimaging data analytics specifically focused on brain mapping in neurological conditions such as Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease, traumatic brain injury (TBI) as well as in neurodevelopmental conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). He is an accomplished author (180+ peer-reviewed publications, h-index>55), university-level educator, and is known internationally as an expert in neuroinformatics and data sharing. He is a Fellow of the Organization for Human Brain Mapping (OHBM), an organization for which he has held several leadership positions. From 2002 to 2006, he directed the fMRI Data Center, as well as a high-performance neuroimaging, computational, analysis and visualization facility based at Dartmouth College. At UCLA from 2007-2013, he was faculty in the Department of Neurology and served on the executive committee for the Staglin Center for Cognitive Neuroscience imaging center.
